Supported Formats

Common Format Mistakes
Installing K-Lite or CCCP
Never install codec packs if you use UMedia. They manipulate the Windows registry to force older players to use specific DirectShow filters, which often causes conflicts, crashes, and degraded quality. UMedia ignores these entirely.
Relying on Windows Default Player
The default "Movies & TV" app requires you to purchase the HEVC extension for $0.99 from the Microsoft Store, and frequently fails to read MKV subtitles or FLAC audio tracks. UMedia provides all of this natively for free.
