Dolby Vision (DoVi)
Playing Dolby Vision on a PC has historically resulted in false colors (purple/green tints) or washed-out images. UMedia features a custom pipeline to handle DoVi Profiles correctly.
Profile Handling
Profile 5 (Streaming)
Uses a proprietary IPTPQc2 color space. Standard players render this as pink/green. UMedia converts this to standard BT.2020/PQ on the fly via shaders, making streaming rips watchable on any display.
Profile 7 (UHD Blu-ray)
Contains a base HDR10 layer + a Dolby Vision enhancement layer (FEL/MEL). UMedia plays the base HDR10 layer while actively injecting the dynamic metadata to adjust brightness frame-by-frame.
Profile 8
Cross-compatible HDR10 base layer with DoVi metadata. Fully supported.
